Cancellation waitlist for physio and chiropractic clinics
Cancellation waitlist for physio and chiropractic clinics is a SaaS idea for owners and front desk teams at physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics, priced to test at $49 a month per clinic, texts billed at cost. Late cancellations leave gaps that the front desk tries to fill by phoning patients one by one. When a patient cancels, matching patients on the clinic’s waitlist are offered the slot, and the first to accept takes it.
. A starting point we wrote, not market research: run the 7-day test before you build.
What problem does it solve?
Late cancellations leave gaps that the front desk tries to fill by phoning patients one by one. Calls go unanswered, the slot stays empty, and the practitioner loses paid time.
Why now: Patients already book from their phones and answer a text sooner than a call from an unknown number.
What do they use today?
Most clinics keep a notebook or a spreadsheet of people who asked for an earlier slot, and staff work down it with calls between other jobs. Anyone who does not answer is skipped.
How does it work?
The front desk keeps a waitlist with each patient’s practitioner and preferred times. When someone cancels, staff enter the open slot and the product offers it by text and email to matching patients, and the first to reply takes it while the others are told it has gone. The desk watches offers, replies and filled slots live, and a monthly report counts the gaps filled from the waitlist.
What goes in the first version?
- Waitlist with each patient’s practitioner and preferred times
- Cancelled slots offered by text and email to matching patients
- First reply wins; others are told the slot is gone
- Front desk sees offers, replies and filled slots live
- Monthly report of gaps filled from the waitlist
Who pays, and how much?
- Who pays
- Owners and front desk teams at physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics
- Price to test
- $49 a month per clinic, texts billed at cost
A flat price per clinic fits owners who already count their costs by site. Texts are passed on at cost, so the clinic pays only for the messages it actually sends.
How to test it in 7 days
- 1Ask five clinic owners how many late cancellations they had last week and how they filled them.
- 2For one week, have one clinic’s front desk text a short waitlist for each gap and count fills.
- 3Ask in online physiotherapy business groups how clinics fill late gaps today.
Where to find the first customers
- Physiotherapy and chiropractic business groups on Facebook
- Clinic business coaches and consultants
- Regional physiotherapy and chiropractic associations
What are the risks?
- Waitlists link patients to a clinic and practitioner, so privacy rules for health data apply.
- Without a link to the clinic’s booking system, staff must enter accepted slots twice.

You are in a fresh copy of the shipanysaas starter kit, a pnpm and Turborepo monorepo: the Next.js web app is in apps/web and the Supabase database, with its migrations, in apps/web/supabase. Help me build the first version of Cancellation waitlist for physio and chiropractic clinics. Read AGENTS.md first, then the AGENTS.md in every folder you work in: the kit's rules there win over your defaults. When a skill in .agents/skills (also in .claude/skills and .cursor/skills) matches a task, use it. ## The product - What it does: When a patient cancels, matching patients on the clinic’s waitlist are offered the slot, and the first to accept takes it. - Who pays: Owners and front desk teams at physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics - Their problem: Late cancellations leave gaps that the front desk tries to fill by phoning patients one by one. Calls go unanswered, the slot stays empty, and the practitioner loses paid time. - Price to test: $49 a month per clinic, texts billed at cost (a plan in apps/web/config/billing.config.ts) ## Build only this first version 1. Waitlist with each patient’s practitioner and preferred times 2. Cancelled slots offered by text and email to matching patients 3. First reply wins; others are told the slot is gone 4. Front desk sees offers, replies and filled slots live 5. Monthly report of gaps filled from the waitlist ## Already in the kit: reuse it, never rebuild it - Teams and roles: team accounts with members, roles and invitations - Billing: Stripe or Lemon Squeezy subscriptions, per seat or usage-based, and one-off payments - Admin panel: a super-admin panel that needs two-step sign-in - Emails: transactional email through Resend or Nodemailer - In-app notifications: a notifications bell in the web app ## New code it needs - Waitlist with preferences and matching - Text message offers with first-reply booking - Report of gaps filled from the waitlist ## How to work 1. Plan first: list the database tables (with row-level security, so each team only sees its own rows), the pages and the server actions for the first feature. Then stop and wait for my OK. 2. Build one feature at a time with the kit's own UI and form components, with a migration for every schema change and user-facing text in the translation files. 3. After each feature, run the verification steps in AGENTS.md, fix what they find, and tell me what you built and what comes next. ## Rules - Ask me before you add a dependency, delete a file, or change sign-in, billing or the admin panel. - Leave the parts of the kit this product doesn't use as they are. Done when every first-version feature works for a signed-in team and the AGENTS.md checks pass.
