Trial class follow-up for boutique fitness studios
Trial class follow-up for boutique fitness studios is a SaaS idea for owners of independent yoga, barre, boxing and dance fitness studios, priced to test at $39 a month per studio. Trial visitors leave with a smile and a flyer, then hear nothing. With it, boutique studios log every free trial visitor and send timed follow-ups, so staff know who to call before interest fades.
. A starting point we wrote, not market research: run the 7-day test before you build.
What problem does it solve?
Trial visitors leave with a smile and a flyer, then hear nothing. Staff mean to follow up, but names sit in a notebook or a booking export nobody opens.
Why now: Studios already pay for ads and offers to bring in trial visitors, so losing them to silence is costly.
What do they use today?
Most studios rely on a friendly word from the instructor at the door and a hope that the visitor books again. Anyone who follows up does it from memory, between classes, for the few people they recall.
How does it work?
A visitor signs up for a free trial on the studio’s form and is checked in at the front desk. Follow-up emails go out on a timetable after the first class, and staff work through a daily call list, noting each outcome and moving the person towards member or recording why they did not join. Each month the owner sees how trials turned into members, by offer and instructor.
What goes in the first version?
- Trial sign-up form and front desk check-in
- Follow-up emails timed after the first class
- Daily call list for staff with notes and outcomes
- Stages from trial to member, with reasons people didn’t join
- Monthly trial-to-member report by offer and instructor
Who pays, and how much?
- Who pays
- Owners of independent yoga, barre, boxing and dance fitness studios
- Price to test
- $39 a month per studio
A flat price per studio fits owners who run one small business with a handful of staff, so nobody counts seats or visitors. It sits beside the ads and offers the studio already pays for.
How to test it in 7 days
- 1Ask five studio owners what happened to last month’s trial visitors.
- 2Take a free trial class at three studios and note whether anyone follows up.
- 3Run follow-ups by hand for one studio for a week and count who returns.
Where to find the first customers
- Studio owner groups on Facebook
- Fitness studio business coaches
- Yoga teacher training providers
What are the risks?
- Studio booking tools may add follow-ups; win by being simpler and more personal.
- Emails to trial visitors need consent and an easy unsubscribe under local email rules.

You are in a fresh copy of the shipanysaas starter kit, a pnpm and Turborepo monorepo: the Next.js web app is in apps/web and the Supabase database, with its migrations, in apps/web/supabase. Help me build the first version of Trial class follow-up for boutique fitness studios. Read AGENTS.md first, then the AGENTS.md in every folder you work in: the kit's rules there win over your defaults. When a skill in .agents/skills (also in .claude/skills and .cursor/skills) matches a task, use it. ## The product - What it does: Boutique studios log every free trial visitor and send timed follow-ups, so staff know who to call before interest fades. - Who pays: Owners of independent yoga, barre, boxing and dance fitness studios - Their problem: Trial visitors leave with a smile and a flyer, then hear nothing. Staff mean to follow up, but names sit in a notebook or a booking export nobody opens. - Price to test: $39 a month per studio (a plan in apps/web/config/billing.config.ts) ## Build only this first version 1. Trial sign-up form and front desk check-in 2. Follow-up emails timed after the first class 3. Daily call list for staff with notes and outcomes 4. Stages from trial to member, with reasons people didn’t join 5. Monthly trial-to-member report by offer and instructor ## Already in the kit: reuse it, never rebuild it - Teams and roles: team accounts with members, roles and invitations - Billing: Stripe or Lemon Squeezy subscriptions, per seat or usage-based, and one-off payments - Emails: transactional email through Resend or Nodemailer - In-app notifications: a notifications bell in the web app ## New code it needs - Trial sign-up and check-in - Timed follow-up emails and call list - Trial-to-member pipeline and report ## How to work 1. Plan first: list the database tables (with row-level security, so each team only sees its own rows), the pages and the server actions for the first feature. Then stop and wait for my OK. 2. Build one feature at a time with the kit's own UI and form components, with a migration for every schema change and user-facing text in the translation files. 3. After each feature, run the verification steps in AGENTS.md, fix what they find, and tell me what you built and what comes next. ## Rules - Ask me before you add a dependency, delete a file, or change sign-in, billing or the admin panel. - Leave the parts of the kit this product doesn't use as they are. Done when every first-version feature works for a signed-in team and the AGENTS.md checks pass.
