Treatment room bookings for shared wellness centres

Treatment room bookings for shared wellness centres is a SaaS idea for owners of clinics and wellness centres that rent rooms by the hour, priced to test at $29 a month per centre plus $5 per room. Room bookings run through a group chat and a shared calendar, and practitioners turn up to find their room taken. With it, wellness centres let independent practitioners book treatment rooms by the hour, with a monthly statement of hours used.

. A starting point we wrote, not market research: run the 7-day test before you build.

What problem does it solve?

Room bookings run through a group chat and a shared calendar, and practitioners turn up to find their room taken. At month end, the owner adds up hours by hand and chases payment.

Why now: Many massage therapists, counsellors and osteopaths now work for themselves and rent rooms by the session, not by lease.

What do they use today?

Most centres rely on a wall planner, a paper diary or a message to the owner to claim a room. At month end the owner counts hours back from whatever record exists.

How does it work?

The owner sets up each room on the calendar with opening hours and booking rules. Practitioners book, move and cancel their own hours, or set a regular weekly slot that repeats until they change it, and each booking arrives with the access code and house rules. At month end the owner has a statement of hours used for every practitioner.

What goes in the first version?

  • Room calendar with booking rules and opening hours
  • Practitioners book, move and cancel their own hours
  • Regular weekly bookings that repeat until changed
  • Monthly statement of hours used per practitioner
  • Access codes and house rules sent with each booking

Who pays, and how much?

Who pays
Owners of clinics and wellness centres that rent rooms by the hour
Price to test
$29 a month per centre plus $5 per room

A base price per centre plus a small price for each room grows with the premises, not with the number of practitioners who rent. Owners already think in rooms and hours, so it is easy to follow.

How to test it in 7 days

  1. 1Ask five centre owners how they track room bookings and bill practitioners today.
  2. 2Search local listings for treatment rooms to rent by the hour and contact ten centres.
  3. 3Ask in massage therapist groups on Facebook what annoys them about renting rooms.

Where to find the first customers

  • Centres advertising rooms to rent on local classified sites
  • Massage and complementary therapy groups on Facebook
  • Local networking groups for wellness business owners

What are the risks?

  • Small centres may stick with a shared calendar unless setup takes minutes.
  • Practitioners may book outside the tool, leaving the calendar and the bill wrong.

You are in a fresh copy of the shipanysaas starter kit, a pnpm and Turborepo monorepo: the Next.js web app is in apps/web and the Supabase database, with its migrations, in apps/web/supabase. Help me build the first version of Treatment room bookings for shared wellness centres.

Read AGENTS.md first, then the AGENTS.md in every folder you work in: the kit's rules there win over your defaults. When a skill in .agents/skills (also in .claude/skills and .cursor/skills) matches a task, use it.

## The product
- What it does: Wellness centres let independent practitioners book treatment rooms by the hour, with a monthly statement of hours used.
- Who pays: Owners of clinics and wellness centres that rent rooms by the hour
- Their problem: Room bookings run through a group chat and a shared calendar, and practitioners turn up to find their room taken. At month end, the owner adds up hours by hand and chases payment.
- Price to test: $29 a month per centre plus $5 per room (a plan in apps/web/config/billing.config.ts)

## Build only this first version
1. Room calendar with booking rules and opening hours
2. Practitioners book, move and cancel their own hours
3. Regular weekly bookings that repeat until changed
4. Monthly statement of hours used per practitioner
5. Access codes and house rules sent with each booking

## Already in the kit: reuse it, never rebuild it

- Billing: Stripe or Lemon Squeezy subscriptions, per seat or usage-based, and one-off payments
- Admin panel: a super-admin panel that needs two-step sign-in
- Emails: transactional email through Resend or Nodemailer
- In-app notifications: a notifications bell in the web app

## New code it needs
- Room calendar with booking rules
- Monthly hours statements per practitioner
- Access codes and house rules per booking

## How to work
1. Plan first: list the database tables (with row-level security, so each team only sees its own rows), the pages and the server actions for the first feature. Then stop and wait for my OK.
2. Build one feature at a time with the kit's own UI and form components, with a migration for every schema change and user-facing text in the translation files.
3. After each feature, run the verification steps in AGENTS.md, fix what they find, and tell me what you built and what comes next.

## Rules
- Ask me before you add a dependency, delete a file, or change sign-in, billing or the admin panel.
- Leave the parts of the kit this product doesn't use as they are.

Done when every first-version feature works for a signed-in team and the AGENTS.md checks pass.
