Photo proof and sign-off for cleaning companies
Photo proof and sign-off for cleaning companies is a SaaS idea for owners of home or office cleaning companies with 3 to 30 cleaners, priced to test at $39 a month per company, plus $5 per cleaner after five. A client says the bathroom wasn’t done, the cleaner says it was, and the owner refunds to keep the peace. With it, cleaners photograph each job against a checklist, and the client signs off from a link, so a complaint comes with evidence.
. A starting point we wrote, not market research: run the 7-day test before you build.
What problem does it solve?
A client says the bathroom wasn’t done, the cleaner says it was, and the owner refunds to keep the peace. Photos sit in group chats and personal phones, so nobody finds proof when it matters.
Why now: Every cleaner already carries a phone with a good camera, and clients know the “photo when it’s done” habit from delivery apps.
What do they use today?
Most owners trust the cleaner’s word and a quick message to the client. Some ask for photos in a group chat, but the pictures carry no checklist and are hard to find months later.
How does it work?
At each job a cleaner opens the property’s checklist on their phone and works through it room by room. The cleaner takes before and after photos, each with the time on it. The client signs off from a link without an account, and if a complaint arrives the owner searches the job history.
What goes in the first version?
- A checklist per property, room by room
- Before and after photos in the phone app, with the time on them
- A sign-off link the client opens without an account
- A job history the owner can search when a complaint comes in
- A weekly summary email for each client
Who pays, and how much?
- Who pays
- Owners of home or office cleaning companies with 3 to 30 cleaners
- Price to test
- $39 a month per company, plus $5 per cleaner after five
A flat monthly price per company is easy for one owner to approve. Each cleaner beyond the first handful adds a small charge, so bigger crews pay more for a tool that replaces their photo group chat.
How to test it in 7 days
- 1Ask in r/sweatystartup and two cleaning-business Facebook groups how owners handle “it wasn’t cleaned” complaints.
- 2Interview five owners and ask what their last refund cost them.
- 3Offer a free month to three companies in return for weekly feedback.
Where to find the first customers
- Cleaning-business owner groups on Facebook
- r/sweatystartup
- Local cleaning franchise owners
What are the risks?
- Cleaners resist extra steps, so a photo has to take seconds.
- Field-service suites include photos, so stay narrow and cheaper.

You are in a fresh copy of the shipanysaas starter kit, a pnpm and Turborepo monorepo: the Next.js web app is in apps/web and the Supabase database, with its migrations, in apps/web/supabase; with the All-in plan, the Expo phone app is in apps/native. Help me build the first version of Photo proof and sign-off for cleaning companies. Read AGENTS.md first, then the AGENTS.md in every folder you work in: the kit's rules there win over your defaults. When a skill in .agents/skills (also in .claude/skills and .cursor/skills) matches a task, use it. ## The product - What it does: Cleaners photograph each job against a checklist, and the client signs off from a link, so a complaint comes with evidence. - Who pays: Owners of home or office cleaning companies with 3 to 30 cleaners - Their problem: A client says the bathroom wasn’t done, the cleaner says it was, and the owner refunds to keep the peace. Photos sit in group chats and personal phones, so nobody finds proof when it matters. - Price to test: $39 a month per company, plus $5 per cleaner after five (a plan in apps/web/config/billing.config.ts) ## Build only this first version 1. A checklist per property, room by room 2. Before and after photos in the phone app, with the time on them 3. A sign-off link the client opens without an account 4. A job history the owner can search when a complaint comes in 5. A weekly summary email for each client ## Already in the kit: reuse it, never rebuild it - Teams and roles: team accounts with members, roles and invitations - Billing: Stripe or Lemon Squeezy subscriptions, per seat or usage-based, and one-off payments - Emails: transactional email through Resend or Nodemailer - In-app notifications: a notifications bell in the web app - Phone app: an iPhone, iPad and Android app on the same backend (All-in plan) ## New code it needs - Checklist builder per property - Photo capture and storage with timestamps - Client sign-off page and job history ## How to work 1. Plan first: list the database tables (with row-level security, so each team only sees its own rows), the pages and the server actions for the first feature. Then stop and wait for my OK. 2. Build one feature at a time with the kit's own UI and form components, with a migration for every schema change and user-facing text in the translation files. 3. After each feature, run the verification steps in AGENTS.md, fix what they find, and tell me what you built and what comes next. ## Rules - Ask me before you add a dependency, delete a file, or change sign-in, billing or the admin panel. - Leave the parts of the kit this product doesn't use as they are. - If apps/native is not in your copy (the Starter plan), build the web app only. Done when every first-version feature works for a signed-in team and the AGENTS.md checks pass.
